It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our brother Richard David Otto. Rich passed
away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, surrounded by all of his siblings. We loved Rich very much and were
happy to pray with him as he took his journey to meet our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Rich was born in Huntington Beach, CA on April 12, 1968, to the parents of Richard F. Otto and Yolanda
Otto. Rich loved anything to do with the beach. He loved surfing, bodyboarding and just being around
the water. He traveled to Costa Rica and Mexico to chase after the waves and explore the beautiful
beaches. He grew up on Notre Dame Street and had many friends that loved spending time with him.
He was a protector. Rich was also a free spirit and found himself living with the less fortunate. God put
him there for a reason as he helped many of the people he encountered.

Rich is survived by his mother Yolanda Otto, who cherished him and loved him with all her heart and
soul. He is also survived by his siblings, Debbie Cahill, Lori Otto, Fr. David Otto, and Stephanie Otto.
Also, survived by his niece and nephews; Zachary Coddington, Travis Coddington, Jessica Mains, and
Nathan Otto. Rich loved his nephews and niece very much. Richard touched the lives of so many
people and he will be deeply missed. May he rest in eternal peace.
